William Byrd Hotel, was built in 1925 to serve the needs of travelers to Richmond Virginia, via the trains passing through the historic Broad Street Station, now the Science Museum of Virginia.

The William Byrd Hotel Apartments renovations converted 2 hotel rooms into 1 bedroom apartments worthy of being called "Home" to seniors age 55 and older.
In 1996, the building was honored to be listed on the state and federal register as an historic landmark.
In 2016, the community was renamed
The William Byrd Senior Apartments. Major renovations were undertaken to upgrade the homes & community but maintaining its historic landmark designation.
The William Byrd Senior Apartments, currently leases to the general public for immediate occupancy in apartments by those meeting posted income qualifications
